Choosing Social Media Platforms Wisely

Social media is a great way for any business to stay engaged with its customers and keep them apprised of any new goings-on. Keeping your brand relevant to trending conversations is an important part of sustaining a buzz and having people remember who you are when it comes time to buy, especially when it comes to major events.
These days, there are more networking sites than ever, however, and deciding which one to go with can be a daunting task. Trying to have a presence on all of them at once can stretch your budget thin, and actually prevent you from making an impact on any of them.
Therefore, before you start a social media campaign, it’s important to consider exactly what the most valuable conduits for your communication will be. If your product is attractive to look at, perhaps Pinterest, a site where shares are largely visually-based, could be a great way to go.For conversations with like-minded professionals, LinkedIn has several functions that facilitate that exchange. If short, snappy repartee is your strong suit, consider Twitter.
Aaron Aders, a contributor for Inc Magazine, has some advice about how to proceed once you’ve identified your platform.
“Once you find your community, then learn the language and the customs of that specific social media community. It’s almost just like going to another country, and if you embrace the customs and the language, then these people are going to accept you,” explains Aders.
Social media can seem daunting at first, but with the right support, your business could use it to flourish.
