Sustainable Practices
AdSoft Direct recognizes and is committed to minimizing and reversing its environmental impact in many ways:
AdSoft Direct strives to use papers that contain 25-40% post-recycled content when possible on all products. Every year paper production and recycling practices get better and AdSoft Direct is committed to keeping pace with these improvements.
Because AdSoft is a digital printer, it is on the forefront of minimizing waste by only printing what customers need. For instance, instead of levying order minimums of 500 postcards, as do many industry competitors, AdSoft allows small-batch ordering of just 25 items or even one item (e.g. a birthday card) which has tremendous green and money saving benefits for all involved.
Offset printing wastes a lot of environmentally hazardous ink during the printer setup process whereas waste during the digital print setup is nearly zero. Not to mention that the paper and ink used can easily be separated or “de-inked” during the recycling process thereby maximizing the paper that can be turned into pulp and recycled into new products.
Furthermore, AdSoft Direct prints the largest postcards/products possible on its digital sheets to minimize the waste that results after trimming the postcards down to size. The trimmed paper is always recycled.
To counter the deforestation and offset the carbon emissions resulting from AdSoft Direct’s operations, thru it’s partnership with American Forests as a Sequoia Circle member, AdSoft Direct plants FIVE trees for every ONE tree it negates while bringing its products to market.
Lastly, AdSoft Direct is now offering e-mail marketing when possible to avoid the environmental impact of direct mail and printing altogether. AdSoft recommends e-mail campaigns when marketing to existing customers and contacts. |
